Softball Preview: Scott City Rams vs. West County Bulldogs

Scott City has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the West County Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott City is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Scott City earned a 4-1 win over Bernie.

Alyssa Dirden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (she also only allowed one walk). Dirden was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Summer Wagner was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Halle Comer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, West County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 22-12 walloping at the hands of Kennett. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.

Scott City pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for West County, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
