Laurel waltzed into their game on Thursday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They really took it to the Vancleave Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-11 victory. The Golden Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Laurel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracelyn Carmichael, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That's the most assists Carmichael has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Karly Hunter, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and eight boards.

Laurel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 25 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Laurel's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Vancleave, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Laurel won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stone at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Vancleave, they will square off against Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
