Basketball Game Preview: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Plant City Raiders

The Hillsborough Terriers will face off against the Plant City Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-12, which was the final score in Hillsborough's tilt against Sickles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Gryphons are ranked 138th).

Plant City fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Blake by a score of 54-47 on Saturday.

Hillsborough has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Plant City, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Hillsborough against Plant City in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-12 victory. In that contest, Hillsborough amassed a halftime lead of 39-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
