Softball Recap: Steelville Takes a Loss

Steelville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Licking Wildcats, falling 11-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Steelville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Licking, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steelville will take on Stoutland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Licking, they will face off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
