Volleyball Game Preview: Edgemont Moguls vs. Pine Ridge Thorpes

The Edgemont Moguls are taking a road trip to challenge the Pine Ridge Thorpes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Edgemont lost 3-0 to Wall on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Moguls have suffered against the Eagles since October 23, 2020.

Edgemont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-8.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pine Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Mahpiya Luta 3-2 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Thorpes as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Pine Ridge took Mahpiya Luta into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 17-25, 20-25, 15-11.

Edgemont has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Pine Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 21-12.

Edgemont was able to grind out a solid win over Pine Ridge in their previous meeting back in August, winning 2-0. Will the Moguls repeat their success, or do the Thorpes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
