Baseball Game Preview: Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs vs. San Jacinto Tigers

The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Coachella Valley will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Saturday, then bounced right back against Desert Mirage on Tuesday. Everything went Coachella Valley's way against Desert Mirage as Coachella Valley made off with a 10-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mighty Arabs in their matchups with the RAMS: they've now won three in a row.

Derek Calderon made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Calderon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jesus Rivera was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Jacob Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Coachella Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Mirage struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, San Jacinto entered their tilt with Indio on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Rajahs as they made off with an 11-3 victory.

San Jacinto pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Coachella Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
