Softball Recap: Whitefish Takes a Loss

Whitefish was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ronan Chiefs, falling 24-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-10 two weeks ago.

Elyse Sharpnack stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Charlei Walz, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Whitefish's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ronan, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Whitefish will face off against rival Browning at 6:00 p.m. on May 5. Meanwhile, Ronan is set to square off against their familiar foe Libby at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
