Baseball Recap: Roosevelt's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Roosevelt was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Franklin Quakers by a score of 12-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 on Friday.

Landon Collar made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Roosevelt's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-18 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Ezra Arp and Quincy Jensen did most of the damage at the plate: Arp went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Jensen went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Jensen has posted since back in April.

Roosevelt's win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-19. As for Franklin, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-24.

As of now, neither Roosevelt nor the Quakers have any future games scheduled.
