Softball Recap: Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mansfield and Trinity squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mansfield had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Mansfield and nudges their season record down to 12-14. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Trinity, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12-1 record this season.

While Mansfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
