Basketball Recap: Springville Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Springville came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 67-48 victory over the East Buchanan Buccaneers. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for East Buchanan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springville has already played their next game (against Maquoketa Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Buchanan will challenge Dunkerton at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Dunkerton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something East Buchanan surely won't give up without a fight.
