East Wilkes is a perfect 10-0 against Elkin since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The East Wilkes Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elkin Buckin' Elks at 6:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for East Wilkes after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Reagan by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Elkin won against Watauga on Thursday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Elkin put the hurt on North Stokes with a sharp 14-4 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Buckin' Elks this season.

Alyssa Jenkins spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. As a matter of fact, that's the most runs she has scored all season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoey Cincotti, who fired off three runs, three doubles, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie White, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Elkin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elkin's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Wilkes, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

East Wilkes beat Elkin 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will East Wilkes repeat their success, or does Elkin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
