Simla wins going away against Byers

The Simla Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 51-31 margin over Byers. Given Simla's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Byers is ranked 228th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Amara Mazerall, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Carlee Cox, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Simla now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Byers, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6.

Simla will face off against Burlington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Byers, they will be playing at home against Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
