Softball Recap: Corner Canyon Takes a Loss

Corner Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Hillcrest Huskies, falling 7-1. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Huskies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Corner Canyon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Corner Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hillcrest, their record now sits at 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corner Canyon will challenge Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granger has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something Corner Canyon will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hillcrest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cottonwood at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cottonwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.43 runs per game on average), something Hillcrest will no doubt try to take advantage of.
