Basketball Recap: Wheaton-Warrenville South Comes Up Short

Wheaton-Warrenville South has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Aurora Blackhawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 262nd).

Wheaton-Warrenville South's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for West Aurora, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers face off against the Glenbard North Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Aurora, they will challenge Larkin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
