Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Unioto Shermans

The River Valley Raiders will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Unioto Shermans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: River Valley has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Unioto will arrive with four straight victories.

On Saturday, River Valley came up short against Oak Hill and fell 54-45. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while the Oaks are ranked 328th).

Meanwhile, Unioto didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Washington on Friday, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win.

Unioto pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
