Softball Recap: Tri-Valley Comes Up Short

Tri-Valley had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to Normal University and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Vikings lost 22-15 to the Pioneers. The Vikings have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Zoey Whittaker led a balanced group of hitters, firing off three home runs and seven RBI while going 5-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Fesler, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 20-6-1. As for Normal University, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-16 record this season.

Tri-Valley will face off against LeRoy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Normal University, they will venture away from home to face off against Morton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pioneers are facing the Potters at the right time seeing as the Potters are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
