Softball Game Preview: Armwood Hawks vs. Robinson Knights

Armwood is 0-3 against Robinson since March of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Armwood Hawks will take on the Robinson Knights at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Armwood lost 29-14 to Tampa Bay Tech on Tuesday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Janelle Pagan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Justine Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Steinbrenner, falling 13-1.

Robinson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Satin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Armwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Robinson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Robinson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Armwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .476. It's a different story for Robinson, though, as they've only averaged .214. Will they be able to contain Armwood's hitters?

Armwood suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Robinson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Armwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
