Volleyball Recap: Caldwell Academy Comes Up Short

Caldwell Academy was the 3-1 winner over Asheville Christian Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Asheville Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Caroline Simpson, who had 20 assists and three aces. Simpson is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Caldwell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Asheville Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caldwell Academy will square off against Hickory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they will take on Christ Church Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
