Softball Recap: Manalapan Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middletown South, Manalapan was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Henry Hudson Admirals 21-5. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mary Kovaleski was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bel Caputo, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Manalapan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Manalapan pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Henry Hudson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Manalapan will square off against Ocean Township at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Henry Hudson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Rose at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
