The Ayden - Grifton Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Farmville Central Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ayden - Grifton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Ayden - Grifton earned a 6-1 win over Pamlico County. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won seven in a row.

Sean Frable looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Ayden - Grifton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brysen Williams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Jack Ewell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Farmville Central never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Ayden - Grifton.

Joe May made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Farmville Central is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. May was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Farmville Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. Ayden - Grifton's record is now 6-2.

Ayden - Grifton couldn't quite get it done against Farmville Central in their previous meeting on Tuesday as they fell 5-0. Can Ayden - Grifton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
