It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sharpsville had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on the Union City Bears with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lily Palko was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Izzie Candiotti was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Sharpsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union City only managed six hits.

Sharpsville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Union City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
