Baseball Recap: Fishers Has No Trouble Against Yorktown

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Fishers were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Yorktown. The win continues a trend for Fishers in their matchups with Yorktown: they've now won four in a row.

Austin Conley looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three games.

At the plate, Deagan Repp and Zander Carnahan did most of the damage at the plate: Repp went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base, while Carnahan went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Ruggles, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Fishers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yorktown only posted a batting average of .241.

Fishers' victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Yorktown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Fishers will challenge Franklin Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yorktown, they will take on Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
