Basketball Recap: Ironwood Extends Home Winning Streak to 18

Ironwood won the last time they faced Kellis and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ironwood Eagles blew past the Kellis Cougars, posting a 95-52 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Brownstein, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. What's more, Brownstein also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was I'Yar Shadowvine, who went 6 of 7 en route to 15 points along with seven assists and six steals.

Brownstein wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Ironwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Ironwood pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Kellis, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7.

Ironwood will square off against Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arizona College Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Kellis, they will welcome Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paradise Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kellis surely won't give up without a fight.
