Basketball Recap: Bishop Ludden's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

On Wednesday, Bishop Ludden faced Rome Free Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bishop Ludden Gaelic Knights took a 79-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rome Free Academy Black Knights. It was the first time this season that the Gaelic Knights let down their fans at home.

Uzziah Grimes was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 22 en route to 32 points and eight rebounds for Rome Free Academy. The matchup was Grimes' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Hammon, who went 8 for 9 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Bishop Ludden's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2. As for Rome Free Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rome Free Academy beat Bishop Ludden by a score of 79-70 later that day.
