Basketball Recap: Jenkins County Takes a Loss

Jenkins County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Bryan County Redskins 57-19. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while the Redskins are ranked 102nd).

Kimora Hemphill and Cassie Martin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hemphill posted eight points, while Martin put up five points. That was a full 42.1% of Jenkins County's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Jenkins County's loss dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Bryan County, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Jenkins County will challenge Emanuel County Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bryan County has already played their next match, a 56-42 win against Metter on the 5th.
