Baseball Game Preview: Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats vs. Neoga Indians

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is 1-7 against Neoga since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 4:30 p.m.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Casey-Westfield, falling 10-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Neoga, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Charleston on Tuesday. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Colin Blazich was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan O'Dell, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Neoga's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Neoga when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
