Softball Game Preview: International High School at Largo Sea Turtles vs. Oxon Hill Clippers

International High School at Largo is 0-3 against Oxon Hill since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Sea Turtles will welcome the Clippers at 4:30 p.m.

International High School at Largo is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Crossland two weeks ago, falling 30-5. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Oxon Hill put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Gwynn Park a 17-0 shutout. Fans of the Clippers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Kennedy Woodruff made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Woodruff was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Oxon Hill let Avril Frazier and Sydney Carter run wild. Frazier scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Carter scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Frazier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hilliard, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Oxon Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .686 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
