Basketball Game Preview: Brownfield Cubs vs. Permian Panthers

The Brownfield Cubs will venture away from home to face off against the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brownfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Permian likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Brownfield took their match with ease, bagging a 97-34 victory over Stanton. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Permian challenged Frenship on Tuesday. Permian took a hard 72-54 fall against Frenship.

Brownfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points over those games. As for Permian, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-10.

Brownfield took a serious blow against Permian in their previous matchup back in January of 2018, falling 85-56. Can Brownfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
