Baseball Recap: Scotland Comes Up Short

Scotland lost to Cape Fear on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Scots fell 4-1 to the Colts. Scots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Colts since Friday.

Scotland has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Cape Fear, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotland will face off against Montgomery Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Scots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Cape Fear, they will challenge Topsail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
