Softball Recap: Gunn Comes Up Short

Gunn fell victim to Mountain View and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 7-0. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Gunn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tess Bogart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Gunn now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mountain View, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.

Gunn and Mountain View could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Titans (ranked 559th) will meet Mills (ranked 77th) at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th. Meanwhile, Mountain View will challenge Capuchino at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (486 vs. 97).
