Basketball Recap: Yucca Valley Takes a Loss

Yucca Valley's tournament run continued when they took on Canyon Springs on Saturday. The Yucca Valley Trojans fell just short of the Canyon Springs Cougars by a score of 45-42. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Kaleayah Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 19 boards for Canyon Springs. That's the most rebounds Marshall has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Izabella Tejada, who posted three points and eight assists.

Yucca Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Canyon Springs, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

Yucca Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-11 victory against Indio on the 28th. Canyon Springs has also already played their next contest, a 35-18 win against Liberty on the 28th.
