Flag Football Game Preview: Jordan Panthers vs. Compton Tarbabes

The Jordan Panthers will take on the Compton Tarbabes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Jordan 11, Compton 6.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Jordan's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Millikan on Wednesday. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Rams. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Compton had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 26-18.

Compton found their leader in sophomore Miah Gibson, who rushed for 51 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 156 yards on 17 of 25 attempts.

Compton's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Destin'Ee Kelley and Paityne Chandler, who racked up all nine sacks between them. Chandler has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last seven times she's played.

Compton's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Jordan couldn't quite get it done against Compton in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 13-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gibson, who threw for 190 yards and one TD, and also caught one score.
