Baseball Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dawson School on Wednesday, Sheldon came back down to earth. Sheldon fell just short of the West Point Dragons by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), the Irish still had to take the loss.

Sheldon dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Point, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4-1.

Looking ahead, Sheldon will take on Pueblo Central in a tournament on Thursday. As for West Point, they will welcome Fruitland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Point's pitchers better be ready for this one: Fruitland has averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season.
