 The St. Mary's Knights will play host again  on Monday to welcome the Mesquite Wildcats, where first pitch is scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.
 Last Monday, St. Mary's suffered a  tough 16-8 defeat at the hands of Bradshaw Mountain. St. Mary's has not had much luck with Bradshaw Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  Luis Mejia and  Zach Tanner stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Mejia  went 2-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI, while  Tanner  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  Xavier Millan was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Mesquite can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent  matchup  last Thursday. They blew past Cesar Chavez 13-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Mesquite.
  Cruz Lantz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on five hits.
 On the hitting side, Mesquite let  Gunnar Gift and  Jensen Jones loose on the outfield. Gift  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and a  triple, while  Jones  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bently Sandall, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Mesquite, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record  this season.
 St. Mary's suffered a grim  14-2 defeat to Mesquite  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2023. Can St. Mary's avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
