Volleyball Recap: Oswego Starts off Right with Win over Waubonsie Valley

Oswego had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Waubonsie Valley Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Oswego won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22.

Peter Barnes paced Oswego's offense, picking up 12 kills. Barnes got some help from Aidan Schmitt and his 21 assists. Barnes was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Waubonsie Valley now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Oswego will take on Fenton in a tournament on Saturday. As for Waubonsie Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Aurora at 8:00 a.m. on April 5.
