Football Game Preview: Weedsport Wolverines vs. Adirondack Wildcats

The Weedsport Wolverines will face off against the Adirondack Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Adirondack took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Weedsport, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Weedsport didn't have too much trouble with Sherburne-Earlville as they won 29-12. That looming 29-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolverines yet this season.

Meanwhile, Adirondack was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Holland Patent, falling 27-7. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Weedsport will have to contain Robert Weiler as he made an impact in Adirondack's last game. He rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown. Weiler was even better on defense, making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Even if they lost, Adirondack's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Andrew Mihalko, Jesse Dragan, and Lydell Bechy, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Weedsport's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Adirondack, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
