Baseball Preview: Clay Eagles vs. Whitmer Panthers        
        
		
            
 Clay has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will  take on the Whitmer Panthers at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Thursday, Clay beat Ottawa Hills 7-2.
  Grady Spears made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. Spears was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-1 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Noah Schacht, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Vinny Gallaher, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Whitmer got themselves on the board against Ross on Wednesday, but Ross never followed suit. They blew past the Little Giants 10-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Whitmer considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.
 Clay's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 20-3. As for Whitmer, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
 Clay skirted past Whitmer  1-0 when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clay since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
