Philomath led 4A Oregon West in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Stayton.

Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,108 from 7,947. The improvement was the result of 42-7 victory over Newport last week.

The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ben Finnegan threw for 216 and three touchdowns and Kelton Chapman had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Tell Cruickshank chipped in 120 yards. Grant Lindley helped Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 69 yards.

Branden Cutsforth made the biggest impact on defense this week as Central beat the Cubs. The 6-foot-0 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.

Thanks to the talents of Finnegan and Cruickshank Shane Hedrick's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Finnegan leads the league in passing with 1428 yards, while Cruickshank has rushed for 779 yards this season. Newport's Kellen Wood leads the league in receiving yards with 542 on 37 catches.
