Basketball Recap: McLaurin Takes a Loss

McLaurin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the Enterprise Bulldogs. The Tigers lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-21 score last time.

McLaurin's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Enterprise, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-8.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the McLaurin Tigers face off against the Kemper County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kemper County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something McLaurin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Enterprise, they will head out to square off against Noxubee County at 1:41 p.m. on Friday. Enterprise is facing Noxubee County at the right time seeing as Noxubee County is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
