Softball Recap: Redlands Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Redlands, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They won by a run and slipped past the Rialto Knights 9-8. The win was some much needed relief for the Terriers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Makayla Mendoza and Sofia Akimoto did most of the damage at the plate: Mendoza scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Akimoto scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Mendoza a new career-high in runs. Kaylah Knudsen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Redlands' record now sits at 3-7. As for Rialto, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Redlands will host Rim of the World at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rialto, they are taking a road trip to face off against Miller at 3:15 p.m. on March 27th.
