Soccer Game Preview: Buena vs. Flowing Wells

The Buena Colts will head out on the road to take on the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Buena's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Desert View. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by five goals or more this season.

They hit Desert View with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Paige Goodman (3), Maddison Forsberg (2), and Abigail Lewis.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Flowing Wells' offense. They lost 9-0 to Douglas on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Caballeros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 20th).

Buena's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five games. As for Flowing Wells, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-3 record this season.

Buena came out on top in a nail-biter against Flowing Wells when the teams last played back in January of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buena since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
