Baseball Game Preview: Ellington Knights vs. Griswold Wolverines

The Ellington Knights will face off against the Griswold Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Ellington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Rocky Hill as they made off with a 10-4 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Ellington let Dylan Killoran and Jaxson Dumond run wild. Killoran went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Dumond got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most doubles Killoran has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Hebert, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Griswold made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy on Monday. The Wolverines blew past the Phoenix 10-2.

Griswold has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Ellington, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Ellington got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in June of 2025 against Griswold by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
