Basketball Recap: Life Center Academy Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Life Center Academy hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost six straight) but thanks in part to Rasheem Yon that streak is no more. The Life Center Academy Warriors managed a 52-48 win over the Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride on Monday thanks in part to Yon, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played.

Joel Kabugi was another key player, putting up six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave him a new career-high.

Cristo Rey Philadelphia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Booker, who posted 16 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Amir Nelson, who put up eight points.

Life Center Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game.
