Moorpark extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 10-8. Everything went their way against the Oak Park Eagles as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The Musketeers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Viviana Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Kiley Finnerty got the start for Moorpark and what a start it was: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Christianna Ababseh, who fired off three home runs and nine RBI while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Holliday, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Moorpark lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Park didn't launched any.
As for Oak Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-6-2 Simi Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.8% over those games).
On Oak Park's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Casella, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Moorpark has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Simi Valley on the 5th. As for Oak Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-3 victory against Grace on the 5th.
