Basketball Game Preview: Green Mountain Rams vs. Peak to Peak Pumas

Green Mountain took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Erie, sneaking past 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since February 15, 2024.

Tre Gutierrez went supernova for Green Mountain, going 7 for 12 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Gutierrez a new career-high. Jake Swanson was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Peak to Peak put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-52 victory over DSST: Cedar. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Falcons are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Peak to Peak pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Green Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
