Baseball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy fell victim to Standley Lake and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Gators. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Commanders haven't been shut out since back in March.

Kennedy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Valenzuela, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Valenzuela has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was Damian Ortiz, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Kennedy and nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Standley Lake, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Kennedy will challenge SkyView Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Standley Lake, they will face off against D'Evelyn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
