Basketball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Lebanon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the LaVergne Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 48th).

Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for LaVergne, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Lebanon has already played their next game (against Wilson Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. LaVergne will take on Smyrna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Smyrna knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully LaVergne likes a good challenge.
