Baseball Game Preview: Kiel Raiders vs. Brillion Lions

For the second straight game, Kiel will face off against Brillion. The Raiders will head out to square off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kiel's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Brillion's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Kiel's win against Brillion wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

Cade Voelker made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Voelker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton Schaefer, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Kiel's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brillion, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
