The Mendon Unity Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Clark County Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendon Unity is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Mendon Unity is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 9, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Illini West 11-10.

Mendon Unity saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Frese, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The Mustangs are undefeated when Frese posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Adler Gray was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Mendon Unity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Clark County let Hamilton/Warsaw stack four runs on them in the fifth inning on Wednesday but luckily Clark County prevailed anyway. The Indians walked away with an 8-5 win over the Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won six in a row.
The team relied heavily on Eli Miller, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Silas Phillips, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
Mendon Unity's record now sits at 8-6. As for Clark County, their record is now 9-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mendon Unity has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Clark County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Mendon Unity came out on top in a nail-biter against Clark County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
