Volleyball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

If Marion was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wynne on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Collierville Dragons on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Marion started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

KENDALL BROWN paced Marion's offense, picking up 13 kills. BROWN got some help from CLAIRE BRINKLEY and her 18 assists. KAITLYN AUSTIN controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Collierville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Greene County Tech on the 28th. As for Collierville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bartlett on the 28th.
